Zombieland – Review

Yeah!! This film is awesome! If you’re into your video games, then think of all the humour and casual slaughter of Left 4 Dead as a real life version, and you’ve got Zombieland. It’s a zombie film with plenty of comedy, gore and crazy moments, but it’s not mindless, it’s actually got a pretty decent script, not to mention a brilliant cast! Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Abigail Breslin and Bill Murray as a cameo. All 4 characters travel America slaying and dodging Zombie hordes with style, whilst also on search for Twinkies (which reminds me of that apocalyptic Family Guy episode, what is it with these Twinkie things?).

Initially it’s just Woody and Jesse and they meet Emma and Abigail, but the two girls trick them and take away with their weapons and truck, in hope of their own survival. They later meet up, automatically not trusting each other, but end up continuing their journey together. I loved the chemistry between all the characters, particularly the scene in the car where they’re all talking, almost arguing about various things. Abigail Breslin is one of my favourite things about the whole film, she is so fun to watch, and at 14 years of age, she’s kicking ass too.

“Nut up or shut up” – what a quote.
